Northampton-based social care provider & CEO Isabel Santos Melo recently swooped the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award’ at the 2014 Great East Midland Care Awards.
The Gala Dinner on Friday 21st November saw over 400 of the very best in social care attend a glitzy awards ceremony at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
The Award, which was the highlight of the evening, was presented to the person the judges believe has made the most outstanding long-term contribution to social care. This is further recognition of Ms. Melo’s long and meaningful career in the sector.
After working for the NHS, she co-founded award-winning social care business Mentaur, providing services to people with learning disabilities, mental disorder, dementia and autism for over 26 years.
The awards are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of 9 regional awards celebrating excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice within both home care and care homes sectors, and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
“I am hugely touched by this award and remain committed to making the difference in people’s lives”
